Freeze It Hairspray (Review)

With myself and 2 lovely young ladies here at the Beckee's Deals house, we deal with a lot of hair (ironic since Mr Beckee's Deals is bald...). Anyway, the ladies of the house all have long hair. My 3-year-old still has that fine baby hair that looks lovely with very little effort, but my 9-year-old, Salsa, and I both have a big problem with FRIZZ! Especially in this humid city of Omaha, Nebraska! Oh how I loathe it.

So, when I heard about the chance to try out Freeze It hairspray, I jumped at the chance. Why you ask? Well, because, according to the back of the bottle, Freeze It will "lock in your look for an all day style" because it is (and I quote):
  • Humidity Resistant (JUST what I need)
  • Quick Drying
  • Non-Sticky
  • Non-Flaking
  • Enhanced with Optical Brighteners
Wait, hold the phone...Optical Brighteners? What? Again, According to the package "Optical Brighteners make brown hair richer, red hair brighter, black hair shinier, and blond hair more true to color by increasing light and color reflection. Improves and enhances all types of permanent and natural hair color."

OK! This sounds like just what Salsa and I need! Salsa specifically asked for a way to make her frizzy parts of her hair stay down that is not sticky and will hold all day! I would just like to resist the humidity (so I can avoid looking like a frizzball).

So, we put it to the test...

My girl has frizzy hair that often ends up looking like this:

However we were able to spray down her hair a couple different days and styles. One day we put her hair back in a ponytail and the other day she wore it down. And even after playing during the day, her hair looked like this the first day:

And this the second day:

A marked difference in the amount of frizz and in how styled her hair looks at the end of the day. Salsa noted that is was not sticky, so it met her expectations! (You can see she liked it as she hugs the bottle...)

I had to go out to a storage unit and check out some things in the wind for about an hour or so on a fairly humid day, so I thought it was the perfect chance to really test out the hairspray. In the morning before I left, my hair looked like this:

After over an hour of wind and humidity outside, it looked like this (without any brushing or styling at all):

A few fly away whispies, but overall, not much of a difference! Sweet! It held up to my test!

We really liked the Freeze It spray in our tests, but I like it even more knowing that Freeze It has partnered with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and sales of their special edition pink cans will go to benefit the Foundation. I love when companies support good causes! I feel like I can help support a great cause while selfishly choosing a great product anyway!! :)

You can find a variety of hair care products from Freeze it, including this sweet hair spray at retailers like Walmart, or you can order online from places like Amazon.
