Review/Mother's Day Idea: Lovely Baby & Mommy CD
6:10 PM
Are you still looking for a Mother's Day gift for a new mom, by chance? Or for a mom of young children? If you are I think I may have found the gift for you!
Many of you know wonderful readers know that I had my 5th child 4 weeks ago. One thing you may not know about me though is that I am a music fanatic and I am always looking for good age-appropriate music for my 5 babies (ages 4 weeks-8 years old). So, I was really excited when I was given a copy of the Lovely Baby & Mommy CD from Lovely Baby Music.
What is it?
Raimond Lap, the creator of Lovely Baby, has put together 10 very sweet songs about moms in the Lovely Baby & Mommy CD. It is like a big celebration of moms and as with all Lovely Baby Music, it is intended for babies prenatal to 36+ months. The Lovely Baby & Mommy CD and the Lovely Baby & Daddy CD include lyrics, but all other Lovely Baby CD's are instrumental only.
What did we think?
First, I would like to try and speak for my 4 week old baby who has sat quietly on my lap, wide awake for the last hour just listening to the music without fussing. I think his quiet sweet coos are telling me he likes it. He is so calm right now, and I believe it is because of the soothing music playing.
I also have a 35 month old child and the first thing she said when the CD came on was "Mom, this music makes me want you to hold me." Gotta love that. Before I can tell the next thing she said, I have to mention that through the music there are baby sounds (like babies or kids saying "mommy" or giggling). My little lady said "Oh...I love that sweet baby's laugh--he's so cute like our baby."
I also have 3 kids that are ages 4, 7, and 8. This Sunday I went to church with the 5 kids and my mother-in-law. My husband was unable to come due to his work schedule, and it was my first time attempting an outing of this proportion. Our church is 3 hours long, and for 2 of those hours I teach a class of kindergartners (5-yr-olds). Needless to say, by the end, I was totally drained. And my kids were totally wired-all wanted to yell over each other on the way home and so I put on the Lovely Baby & Mommy CD. Everyone quieted down and listened to the peaceful music, and I was so glad!
Many of the CD's my kids listen to and like drive me crazy, but this one is not so bad. I thought it was good music with fair lyrics. Some of the music lyrics were better than others, in that some just made more sense to me. But what I like is that all the lyrics fit with the music style from song to song, and the lyrics are very sweet and loving toward moms. As a mom it made me get a little teary eyed occasionally. I loved the lyrics to the song called "My Closest Friend." Musically, I especially loved the song "She is A Mom." You can actually listen to the song "She is a Mom" here.

ENDED SpaceRaceKids Review and giveaway-You'll love this!!
12:29 AM
When I was asked to review this product and I read the first line in the email from the company I giggled a little. It said something about how they cannot give away a free website so they had mad up a nice poster to giveaway. Why did I giggle? Because I thought "Sure you can give away a free website-in fact it is the best kind of giveaway because every one of my readers can win!" And trust me-this is a fun, educational website that you will be glad you all "won".
What is it?
The website is http://www.spaceracekids.com/. And I cannot describe what it is any better than the company did, so please forgive me for quoting how they describe it:
Space Race is a fully animated action packed web series via www.spaceracekids.com that teaches about space and includes lots of space travel and racing -- entertaining and kid/parent friendly too.
The website has 6 webisodes ready to view and 2 more launching soon. Each of the webisodes is about 5 minutes long. It also has "play", "learn," and "share" sections with different activities within them.
Oh, and BTW-did I mention that it was directed by Emmy Award Winner Mark Risley, with each webisode hosted by “Gary Galaxy,” played by Meyer deLeeuw (who played Joe in the Blue's Clues touring show)? AND Space Race partnered with Speakaboos (the award-winning publisher of digital children’s stories) to Launch “Journey to Space Month”
What did we think of it?
You may be aware that I have 5 kids ranging in age from 3 weeks to 8 years, but you probably did not know I also have a 13 year old brother. The other day I went to http://www.spaceracekids.com/ to play around and check it out. I then had my 4 oldest kids (ages 8, 7, 4, & 2) come over to the laptop to watch a webisode and check out the website with me to see what they thought. My brother happens to be visiting us to help with the new baby and he wandered over somewhere in the middle of the first webisode as well. Let me tell you-all 5 of those kids were totally into these webisodes. I think they watched all of them right then. They were a huge hit!!
After watching the webisodes, the kids scrolled down and discovered the "play", "learn," and "share" sections, and they were in heaven. It was almost too much excitement for them, and they had a hard time taking turns. Even my teenage brother could hardly handle waiting for his next turn. They all especially wanted to find out what characters they were, color a picture, and (the most beloved part) play the 3D Space Racer Game.
Now a lot of times websites that the kids enjoy just get on my nerves and I certainly don't want to play along, but I have to admit that with this website I also had a hard time waiting my turn. I wanted to find out what character I was too! And play the games and learn about Space with my host "Gary Galaxy" (he was adorable). It really is fun for all ages.
You all need to go check out this website, and remember you are all winners as you have now been given the gift of knowledge...knowledge of an awesome website for you and your kiddos!! So, go check out http://www.spaceracekids.com/ and enjoy this free, fun and educational website!

ENDED Review and Quick Giveaway for iCaughtTheEasterBunny.com
2:47 PM
My kids have had some very spirited conversations about the Easter Bunny. Last year the big controversy was over whether the Easter Bunny is a boy or a girl (apparently all the boys in this house believe she is a girl and all the girls think he is a boy). This year there has been some controversy as to whether the Easter Bunny is real at all...I am a firm believer in the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and all things fun. My husband is a bit more of a realist and is willing to go along with the fun, but would also happily let the kids in on the secret. BUT, my husband also loves me a ton and knows how important the Easter Bunny, et al are to me and how much fun it is for me as a parent (and a child...I am pretty sure I have my parents convinced that Santa better still bring me stuff because I still believe in him!!).
My oldest 3 kids (ages 4-8) spent a good deal of time the other day trying to pin my husband down on details about the Easter Bunny that would either verify him as real or fictional. They even had theories as to WHO might be the "Easter Bunny" if in fact he was not real...luckily my husband has the deflecting skills of a ninja and was able to give them many non-answers.
And now my plan comes in!! I wanted to do something to show them that the Easter Bunny of course is real and comes to their house, so I was ecstatic this morning when I was given the opportunity to review http://www.icaughttheeasterbunny.com/! It is such an awesome site, and will help me in my desire to prove the Easter Bunny has come to our house (well, provided the kids don't read this anyway...) This website is awesome! Let me tell you how they describe their product:
Imagine the look of wonder and surprise when a child receives a photo of the Easter Bunny caught in the act in his or her very own home. iCaughtTheEasterBunny.com is a unique website that helps visitors create those memorable keepsake photos.
So, basically you can create a picture of the Easter Bunny at your house like this one I created today:
How sweet is that?!
AND it was easy to do and had SO many awesome options. You just upload your picture of your house (you could use your living room, backyard, kids bedroom, wherever you want). Then you will have lots of options-about 20 different bunny poses and you can change his size, move him where you want in the picture, rotate or flip him, etc.
I love this idea and it will help me to maybe squeeze one more year of Easter Bunny belief out of the kiddos!
Buy It: If you are interested in getting one, all my readers can get a 25% off promo code for any orders. Just use the code BUNNYHOP25 at checkout.
Win it: Five (5) Beckees Deals Readers will each WIN a promo code from iCaughtTheEasterBunny.com to get a free picture!! I want you to get these before Easter so I am doing this as a QUICK giveaway and it will end this Friday April 22 at 11:59 pm central time.
Here is how to enter the Giveaway (PLEASE make sure to leave an email address in each comment so I can reach you should you win):
MANDATORY ENTRY (Must do this first for other entries to count): Tell me your favorite Easter tradition with your family/kids.
Once you have done that, you can get 4 extra entries by doing the following things (Just make sure to leave a separate comment for each entry, and leave me your email address in each comment so I know how to contact you should you win):
1. Become a PUBLIC GFC follower of my blog.
2. Subscribe to my blog via Email or an RSS feed/reader. (Yes-you can use this entry if you are already an email or RSS subscriber- just let me know how you subscribe to my blog).

Review of Maybeline 24-Hour 2 Step Color
5:22 PM
As a Bzz Agent I was given the opportunity to try out the new Maybelline SuperStay 24™ 2-Step Lipcolor.
I have tried other lip colors that claimed to last all day, but none that made a 24 hour claim. I have tested it out a few times now, and have to say, I was impressed with how well it lasted! Admittedly, it did not last 24 hours for me, but I did not have to reapply during the day when I put is on early in the morning. In fact I put it on at 5 am the day I had my baby, and that lasted through the labor and beyond. In pictures taken 12-14 hours (and a childbirth) later, I still had lip color on. I thought it was pretty impressive! Look at this picture of me after my baby was born:
That is what it looked like with no reapplications after hours of labor and delivery! Pretty impressive, right?!
I wanted to also comment on the color selection. There are a lot of colors available and they are really nice vibrant colors. I have 4 different shades and liked them all, but was able to find an absolute favorite in the Forever Chestnut! Fabulous color and will replace my longstanding favorite I have been using!
Overall, I really like the product, though it did not last 24 hours on my lips. It DID last through a lot though!! There are 30 fantastic choices of colors to choose from-something for everyone! I was very happy with the product.
**As a Bzz Agent I was given free products for me to try. As always, all opinions expressed are my own.***

Have I mentioned before (like a million times) that I HATE cleaning? Great Mothers Day Deal: Snapily Amimated Cards review and DEAL
1:52 PM
Well, I am always on the look out for super cute and high quality photo products, so I was really excited to get the chance to learn about and review these great Animated Printed gifts from Snapily.com. I knew of Snapily.com before this, but did not realize all the products they have: photo cards, notebooks, scrapbook pages, business cards, greeting cards, and bookmarks.
As I said I was able to get a free personalized card from Snapily.com to review. Just to let you know, it was super easy to make and order this card (which is the first thing I really liked about this product). In fact, I had my lap top at the hospital with me when I had my baby 2 weeks ago. The morning after he was born, I uploaded a couple pics of him with the family, and I made the card from the hospital that morning. It was seriously easy and quick to do.
The second thing I loved was that it arrived at my house in just a few days. It was really quick!
Initially I was not sure what an animated card would be, but it is one of those cards where you have 2 pictures that change back and forth depending on how you hold the card. It may not make sense for me to explain it, so check out this flash preview here:
Sweet, right?! So, I used the 2 following pictures:
The third thing that really impressed me about these cards was the quality. This is a thick, sturdy card that is not going to fall apart. It is really nice! It is such a nice thing to have that I selfishly decided to keep it for myself rather than give it to one of the grandmas...I might have to buy a couple more cards for them!
Luckily, there is a SWEET deals I can use to get their cards, and YOU can get the same deal!! Right now Snapily.com is offering great coupon's to get your mother (or loved ones) these great Animated or 3-D cards. They are full value coupons to Snapily.com for up to 50% off! Half price for great products like the Animated cards and the 3-D Cards! How fantastic is that for the upcoming Mother's Day?! Seriously! Stop by here to get your deal and then start making your own cards at Snapily.com!!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Hello! I feel like I should re-introduce myself after my blog silence. I guess you can call this last 13 days my maternity leave. But now I am trying to get back into the saddle so to speak. I have a few reviews to post and will try to get some actual deals and freebies up a well, but it may take a while before I am back totally. I am atul recovering, and I always forget how little sleep you get with a newborn nursing every 2-4 hours. Wow!
In case anyone is wondering, Everest is doing well and growing bigger each day. He will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. His older siblings love him like crazy! I am currently blogging from my phone, but will try to post a current picture from the laptop tomorrow.
Also, I know this blog is not a "personal blog", but I would like to thank all of you fantastic readers who have been so patient with me and have sent me so, SO many nice notes and comments. And I would like to also publicly thank all my friends who have sent dinners, treats, and helped me with my other kids. And thank you to my mom for coming to help me (and coming back later this week with my siblings and maybe my dad). And thanks to my mother-in-law and sister-in-law who are coming to town when my mom leaves! I have so much great support in our friends and family! Wes is about to start long call (14 hour over night shifts and I know I would not get through that right now without the family help and support as well as my fabulous friends herr in Omaha-my family away from home.
Ok...enough about me...hopefully there quil be some deals & reviews up tomorrow!
