Dry Idea Review and GIVEAWAY ends 9/13
10:09 AM
Wow-in the process of moving a lot of crazy happens! Here is one of those things! I was sent s great product to try out and to giveaway that took some time to get to me due to moving and all the fun that goes along with changing addresses. So, I will just go ahead and tell you about this product and do this giveaway now that I have everything and have had a chance to test it out.
Here goes...
Let's talk deodorant for a minute...I am generally not a very sweaty lady. And my husband is allergic to all the deodorants and antiperspirants we have found (thus his obsessive showering multiple times a day). So, (dare I admit this), I rarely wear deoderant or antiperspirant. However, moving to the hot, HOT state of Arizona has made me a lot more sweaty..a lot. And a lot more stinky. Also, I have a 9 year old girl that is going through puberty. She noted a few weeks ago that he thinks her body is now having some stinky BO that we should deal with. So, my daughter and I were happy when we got to test out Dry Idea.
I was sent a sample of the Advanced Dry Roll On. I am not usually a roll on deodorant kind of gal when using deodorant, but I wanted to try it out. What I usually do not like is the feeling of a wet product going on. However, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it did not bother me. I put on the deodorant and found it did not bother me at all. It dried quick and then I did not feel stinky throughout the day. I was very happy with the results. I was particularly pleased that it was unscented so I did not have to mell roses (or whatever) wverytime I had a slightly sweaty moment! It just smelled fresh and not stinky! ( You can get it in Unscented, Powder Fresh or Cotton Dry-so find the one you like!)
We got my daughter the same product to try and she loved it (and we noticed it made a difference in the BO she was so worried about). She has tried a few different deodorants in the past year and this one she liked enough to ask for it over and over.
I recommend giving it a try and for 3 lucky Beckee's Deals readers, you can try it for Free!! Check out the giveaway below:
Giveaway: 3 readers will each win 1 coupon good for 1 Free 3.25oz or smaller Dry Idea AdvancedDry! Just enter below on the Rafflecopter form (or you can enter on my FB page instead.)
a Rafflecopter giveaway
As the Rafflecopter says: Please note that the giveaway will end on 9/14 at 12:01 AM EASTERN time. That means you have until 11:01 PM on 9/13 Central time to get in entries (That is only 9:01PM here in AZ). Please note that winners will be picked at random by Rafflecopter after the giveaway ends! Also, Facebook is not affiliated with this giveaway and cannot be held responsible for it in any way.
***By way of disclosure, Dry Idea provided a free sample of their Advanced Roll-On for this Review as well as the 3 Free coupons for the giveaway. However, as always, all opinions expressed are my own.***

New show coming to NET (and other PBS stations) Look awesome!
9:04 AM
Hi there! I am Beckee, the goofball behind Beckee's Deals, and here are a couple things you way not know about me. Back in my pre-children days, I was first an actress (local theatre-nothing fancy) and then I got a degree in Theatre Education and I was a drama teacher (in many areas-summer camps, elementary schools, but mostly in high school). Being "trained" in theatre is a double edged sword because it makes me a sucker for some good entertainment, and it also makes me super picky. Now, combine those little tidbits from my past with the fact I am now a (broke) mom of 5 kids under the age of 10 and you have me in a nutshell: A picky mom looking for free quality entertainment for my kiddos.
I have to admit that overall, most of the current programing on TV right now for kids is totally unwatchable to me. I put on a show for the kids and can hardly stand to hear it as I work. When I am going to watch a show with them, I seek out my old go to shows-Sesame Street and Mr Rogers Neighborhood being my faves!
So, when I was told about the new show coming to NET (Nebraska's PBS Station) I could not wait to tell you about it! The new show is called Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. That is all I needed to hear to pique my interest because any good lifelong Mr Rogers fan like myself should instantly recognize the name of Daniel Tiger! Let me tell you a bit about the show (as provided to me):
· Show Legacy: Fred Rogers influenced generations of children for more than 40 years with his high standards for early childhood education and creativity, as well as his love and respect for the children who grew up watching him. Parents of today who remember watching Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood may find many elements of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood familiar. The theme song contains the classic “It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” refrain, and Daniel puts on his sweater and shoes just like Mr. Rogers did. Your children will love meeting the children of your favorite Neighborhood of Make-Believe characters – Daniel Tiger is the son of the Daniel Striped Tiger, Katerina Kittycat is the daughter of Henrietta Pussycat, Miss Elaina is the daughter of Lady Elaine Fairchilde and Prince Wednesday is the youngest son of King Friday!
Seriously, I am a fan of Mr Rogers! That man was amazing, so I am excited about this show, but I am not going to lie, I always thought Daniel Tiger was a tad bit whiny for my taste. Well, I think they solved that problem in the series. Check out this short clip of what you can expect:
Hungry for more RIGHT NOW (like Kindle, my 4 year old is)? You can also watch the first episode “Daniel’s Birthday” on the NET Kids website by clicking here.
Nebraska Viewer of NET here is the low down on when it is on: Starting Monday, September 3rd, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood will air Monday - Friday at 11 am CT, 11:30 am CT, 1:30 pm CT, and 2:00 pm CT and on Sundays at 8:30 am CT. The show will air at the above times on both NET-1 and NET HD. For more information on the NET schedule, visit: http://www.netnebraska.org/television/sched/ (If you are not in Nebraska-you will have to check your local PBS station to see when it is on-I just saw a commercial here in AZ for it!)
Also, There is some fun Web content everyone should go check out: First, the Daniel Tiger website at http://pbskids.org/daniel. The website contains games that supplement the lessons learned on the show, printables like coloring pages of the new characters and video from the newest episodes. Also, You can also visit the NET Kids site for videos, printables and more at: http://www.netnebraska.org/television/kids/index.html.
Please note by way of disclosure that I was provided this information to share with you but was not compensated in any was for sharing it! I just wanted to! :)

The Future of the Weekend Warrior Feature
12:33 PM
Following is my original explaination of what the Weekend Warrior series was intended to be:
As a reminder, I intend for this series of posts to give suggestions of good day trips you can make in and around Omaha with your family. Hopefully it will give some good ideas of things to do close to home for local readers (and for those of you visiting Omaha, it might give you some ideas of what to do while you are here). The Weekend Warrior Spots I wrote about near Omaha are:
- The Henry Doorly Zoo here
- Adventureland in Iowa here
- Eugene T Mahoney State Park here
- Shenandoah, Iowa here
- Lake Zorinsky here
- Tombstone
- Bizbee
- Apache Trail
- Tuscon
- Phoenix Zoo
- Wet N Wild
- Sonoran Desert near Tuscon
- Tonto National Forest (including Three Bar wildlife enclosure)
- Grand Canyon!
The return of the Weekend Warriors series: Lake Zorinsky repost
11:49 AM
One of the weekly items I used to do that I want to bring back is my Friday feature called Weekend Warriors. It is where I share a bunch of info on one of my favorite places to visit in a day or weekend. I thought I would start out by reposting my very most often viewed blog post EVER! The original Weekend Warriors: Lake Zorinsky post can be seen here, or just keep reading because I am posting it below as well! Enjoy!
As a reminder, I intend for this series of posts to give suggestions of good day trips you can make in and around Omaha with your family. Hopefully it will give some good ideas of things to do close to home for local readers (and for those of you visiting Omaha, it might give you some ideas of what to do while you are here). So far I have talked about the following:
Zorinsky Lake is located at 156th and F streets in West Omaha. There is a HUGE lake with about 7 miles of walking trails around it, a couple playgrounds, lots of picnic shelters, and now a brand new swimming area with water slides (opening tomorrow!!).
We LOVE to walk around the lake as a family and could easily spend all day there. If we were to spend the day there, here is what I would do:
Pack up a cooler for lunch (or the makings of a BBQ), then choose which of the following activities I wanted to fit in:
AND I will add a few things: The water Park is AWESOME and inexpensive for what it is. You could spend all day there if you wanted to! Or spend part of the day there and enjoy the rest the Lake has to offer as well.
Also, many of you in Omaha are likely aware of the fact that the lake was drained to get rid of Zebra Mussels and was empty and frankly really ugly for the last year (ish). Well, I can happily report that when we last went to the lake in June right before moving, it was almost totally full agian and lookig BEAUTIFUL as usual!!
So, head on over to Lake Zorinsky and ENJOY!!!

Carmex Beach Bag & Lip Balms GIVEAWAY ENDS 8/18
10:14 AM
I know I have mentioned before how much I love Carmex. And I am so happy to be a member of the Carmex Blog Squad because it means I get to try out and giveaway a lot of different Carmex products! I have a fun SUMMER prize to giveaway and review, but I have to have a winner by the 20th so this will be a fast giveaway! But first my review:
What is it?
I was sent a package with the following products to try (The winner of this giveaway will get the same items):
I have told you over and over again how much I like Carmex-it is great! I use a lot of chap stick so Carmex is one of my favorite companies to review! (Now that we have moved into the intense dry heat of the desert in AZ, I use even more!!)
I LOVE to try the new flavors. I have tried the Cherry, Lime, Vanilla, Everyday Protecting Strawberry and Original before, but the Pomegranate is a new flavor so this is the first I have tried it. It has a fruitier smell than others and is a little similar to the cherry in the fruitiness. But I actually liked it better than the Cherry. It was a stronger flavor smell. For those that like Carmex but do not like the intensity of the smell or feel of the Original, this would be a PERFECT option for you!
Oh, and can I take a minute to mention how much I LOVE the bag! It is well made, sturdy and nice. I have been taking it to the water park all summer and it is still as good as new! LOVE the bag!

Paradise Bakery freebies for customer appreciation TOMORROW!
2:50 PM
Wow! I got a fun little flyer in my mail today! Apparently, Tomorrow, Thursday August 16th is Customer Appreciation Day at Paradise Bakery.
For those that cannot see the picture (ok, so no one can see the picture since it won't work-I will try to add it later), it says that if you go in tomorrow, you can enjoy a free cup of coffee all day and sample some of their menu items as well. From 7-9am sample Bagels and Breakfast items, 11am-2pm sample salads, Sandwiches, & Panini (though Panini are not available at mall cafes), and from 2-4pm Low-Fat Fruit Smoothies.
(If you were lucky enough to get this same flyer-make sure to check out the back of it for a sweet coupon!!!) Guess I know where Kindle, Everest and I will be for our field trip tomorrow...
