Away
Hey friends. I know my absence has been noticed (by my sister). In case anyone else Wad worried or today at my lack of deals, I first want to apologize and second want to note that all is well. That being said, I wanted to key you all know that I will likely be absent almost always over the next few weeks as I prepare my house to purr it up on the market in preparations for our move across the country to Arizona.
To all you amazing friends who have done this before, I commend you. This may be the most stressful thing I have ever done...ever...wish meer luck and I will try to check back in throughout the weeks.
I will have my smartphone, but no computer so I am available, but it is hard to blog on this thing.
Feel free to send notes of encouragement...
Cheap pregnancy tests...seriously
Yesterday at playgroup I realized that a lot of people are unaware of one of my favorite money saving tricks. I don't know how the rest of you ladies are, but if I am even a little late each month, I panic and have to run out and grab a pregnancy test to ease my anxiety. Well, that gets costly really fast. Unless you buy the tests at the Dollar Store!! Seriously, I buy them at the Dollar Store for a buck each. You do have to ask for them (they keep them behind the counters because they get stolen so much). Well worth asking for the money you save! Plus I buy like 3-5 at a time! Just a little fyi in case you didn't know...
Millard Roadhouse: kids eat free on Monday night
phone blogging is not my favorite (here's to hoping I can avoid an auto correct catastrophe). BUT, I just passed Millard roadhouse, and their sign says that on Mondays kids eat free after 4pm. I will add that to my kids eat free list as soon as I get the chance to hop on a computer!

Attn Utahns: PLEASE speak up for Autism! You have the chance to make a difference
Did you know health insurances do not have to pay for Autism Treatment? Well, there is a bill in Utah trying to change that. Please see this story on KSL about this bill and this one on Deseret News.
Although I do not often voice my own personal opinions on anything political, I felt it important to at least point out to my Utah readers that there is a bill for you to read. After you have read it, I hope you will please voice your support for it to your representatives. I know you will not all support the bill, but I want to tell you that our families have had many personal experiences with needing help with Autism treatments and having no insurance to pay for it, so they have had to pay for what they could afford out of pocket.
Please just read the bill here and see the stories linked above! Wes's cousin posted the following posts on Facebook this morning:
Autism supporters: we need your comments posted to the Deseret News comments section on this story. We have to make sure our support is known. Avoid any sort of angry post - I know this is difficult when it is such a personal issue - but clearly stating your position is crucial! Thank you.
Please go to the KSL story and leave comments about how important this is to you. Try not to attack the naysayers too much - mud slinging is an ugly two way street. Just talk about how important this is to you. We need to have a good list of supportive comments. Thanks!
My sister sent me this: UTAH! Ask Your House Representative to Support HB69! - **Autism Votes ** www.autismvotes.org
Thank you for reading this and thoughtfully considering this bill!

Thrifty Thursday: Updated Kids eat free/cheap list!!!
All the ones I am listing are ones that I (or one of my friends) have tried recently or that have the deal listed on their website (I am linking to those sites). Basically I am saying these are ones that I know are currently accurate as of this post. That being said, not all locations of restaurants always run the same promotions, so I would call your local restaurant and double check to make sure they 1-have a kids noght as listed, and 2-that it is in fact the day/time you want to go. (My warning is that because restaurants do change their promotions, including kids nights, often. So, this list will likely change as time goes by. I will try to update it though)
Kids eat free:
- Hyvee: Eat FREE on Thursdays with an adult meal purchase at any of the following eating locations in the store: Italian, Chinese Express, Kitchen. Dine in only. (one kids meal per adult meal purchased)
- China Buffet: Tuesday kids eat free with adult meal purchase
- Denny's: Night Varies by location 4-10 pm (I have not used this one since August, but it is listed on their website as available at different nights depending on location-you will wnat to call your local location to see what night they do)
- Lone Star: Tuesday all day up to 2 free kids meals per adult meal purchase.
- Spaghetti Works: Monday up to 2 free kids meals per adult meal purchased
- Pepperjax Grill: Wednesday night 2 free kids meals per adult meal purchased (5-8pm)
- Grisanti's Italian: Monday night
- La Mesa: Thursday night One free kids meal per adult meal purchased. I know this is good at the location on 156th and Q but I do not know about the other locations.
- Pizza Ranch: Tuesday looks like one kid per adult meal purchase
- Texas Roadhouse: Mondays 4-10PM one kid eats free with purchase of each adult meal ***NOTE-I hesitantly include this one because we have REPEATEDLY had TERRIBLE service at the Texas Roadhouse in West Omaha and we will NOT eat there again even with good food and Free kids night. However, a friend noted that her family enjoys the one in PAPILLION! So I include this deal with a warning about the West Omaha location (and FYI-when I wrote to them about the issues we have had over and over, they did not reply or care at all. That is why we don't eat there anymore!)***
- Chick Fil A: Wednesday nights One free kids meal per adult combo meal (A friend told me that this is good in Utah locations on Wednesday. I do not know if our new Chick fil A in Omaha has a kids night or not).
- HuHot: Night Varies by location Note that Kids 3 and under are FREE always, but in addition to that, MANY HuHot locations have a Kids night where kids under 11 eat free with adult meal purcahse. (Sadly Omaha doesn't anymore) Click on the restaurant name to see if your local HuHot has a kids night, and which night it is!
- O'Charley's: Day Varies by location 2 kids free per adult meal (This one is not in Nebraska but in lots of other states East of us!)
- Applebees: Tuesday and Thursday Kids eat for $.99 (one child per adult meal purchased)
- Fazoli's: Tuesday nights 5-8pm Kids eat for $.99.
- Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar: Monday Kids eat for $.99 with adult meal purchase
Monday: Spaghetti Works, Grisanti's Italian, Texas Roadhouse, Buffalo Wild Wings*
Tuesday: China Buffet, Lone Star, Pizza Ranch, Applebees*, Fazolis*
Wednesday: PepperJax Grill, Chick Fil A in Utah,
Thursday: Hyvee, La Mesa, Applebees*
Varries by location: Denny's, Chick Fil A, HuHot, O'Charley's
If you have any other great kids free or discounted deals to add to the list, please comment with them after this post! Thanks and happy eating out! :)

Apparently this is what moms do...
My little Squirmer (just earned himself a free package of diapers)
They said my diapers should be here in 4-6 weeks. THis literally took me like 5 minutes to do. I used my phones camcorder and uploaded it. Pretty easy and quick for a free package of diapers!! So, moms of diaper age babies, if you haven't done it yet, go do it now! (See info on how to do so here.
FREE package of Huggies Slip On Diapers (you have to make a video,,,)
Right now, you can get a coupon for a FREE package of Huggies Slip-On Diapers. It takes a tiny bit of work though. You have to go here and submit a video of your squirmy baby. (You can choose to upload a video file, record directly from your webcam, or select a You Tube Video that you have already created featuring your baby.)
The baby depicted in the video must be of diaper age, only one baby per video, andyou have to be the parent or legal guardian of the baby.
After submitting your video, they provide you with a unique link for your coupon. You will have to log into huggies.com and select the size you want (only in sizes 3, 4 and 5). There are a lot of rules. You can check them out here.
And now to get a video before the March 30th deadline...do you think they will mind that my baby has chicken pox all over?! Maybe I should wait a couple weeks... :)
Thanks The Freebie Junkie.

#GIVEAWAY (ends 1/20) @Purex Crystals and @Jockey terry sports bra
What are these products?
The Jockey 2012 Tech Terry Performance Sports Bra is a performance sprotswear for working out. It has moisture wicking to keep you cool and dry (LOVE), a key pocket, reflective logo, breathable mesh panels and a soft bottom band for comfort.
The Purex Crystals fabric softener are a favorite at this house (you can read my first review of it here). We have tried all the different smells and love them all. I am so glad to note that my favorite, the Tropical Splash, is back. These sweet little crystals can be used on baby sleep wear, athletic cloting with wicking and really just about any washable fabric because they contain no oil!
What did I think?
Let me start with the Crystals because my opinion of these continues to be fantastic! I like them more and more the more I use them! And I am not the only fan in the house. My kids LOVE them-even more than I do. In fact, when I was in Chicago a few months ago with my husband, they ran out of crystals and freaked out! My sister who was watching them said she actually went to get new crystals (though she had been avoiding the store entirely with all the kids) because the kids were so concerned that the laundry REALLY NEEDED them! So, I think I can safely say we are fans at the Beckee's Deals house!
I do want to mention that there is a promotion that I love on the Purex site right now where you can "Find the Yellow to Win Green." That means if you go to Purex here and search for the yellow bottle (Tropical Splash) near you, then you can enter to win some moolah!
Now about the bra. First, LOVE that I got a black one! I just like it-personal preference I guess!
Second, you may or may not be aware that I have a 9 month old and I am nursing him. And, I am not a big fan of nursing bras. At this point he is not nursing that often (usually), so I just wear a "normal bra" and pull it up to nurse. This can get tricky with the hard underwire on my bras, but he doesn't nurse that often during the day. Usually...BUT, the child has chicken pox. (Yes chicken pox-you read that right) and he is nursing almost nonstop this week. So, my regular bra started to hurt. Boy, was I glad to have this new Jockey bra! It fits comfortably and the soft bottom makes it so I can nurse my baby without being in pain and without wearing a nursing bra.
Last, I have been trying to work out and lose this baby weight until about a month and a half ago when I sprained my ankle. Well, it is still a bit sore, but I am now going back to the gym. This bra is perfect for those sweaty workouts. It is REALLY comfortable, the wicking really works well, and it is surprisingly supportive (surprisingly only because it is so light and thin that I doubted it's support value-my bad).
So what is the deal?
The deal is, I recommend this bra for anyone that might have a sweaty job ahead, or if you just want a comfortable sports bra! Best part? Right now you can get 20% off this great sports bra. (To get the discount just go to the link.)And when you are picking up a 2012 Jockey Tech Terry Perfoemance Sports bra, stop by and grab one of my favorite products, the Purex Crystals! They are both great products and when paired together seem to be a match made in heaven.

Purex Triple Action Detergent (review)
This is the Purex new Triple Action formula (which is available across the entire liquid detergent line).
To quote the info I was given, "This new and improved Triple Action formula delivers even better on Purex’s promise to leave your clothes bright, white, and clean, and as always, for half the price of the leading brand!"
FYI, part of the reason I LOVE Purex is because it works so well and is SOOO affordable! I have ALWAYS loved that about Purex! They are committed to watching out for our pocketbooks as well as delivering great products which is why they have been figuring out this newly improved formula that not only is improved in how it works, but still stays affordable! As they say "It’s an even better clean, for half the price of the leading brand. New Purex Triple Action leverages the best parts of our current formula, combined with new additions, to deliver great cleaning plus improved brightening power."
I have had the chance to use the Free and Clear version at my house for the past month or so. It has been fabulous! A few things I noticed. I did not need to use as much detergent as I need to with some other detergents I have tried. We do a lot, A LOT of laundry here with 7 people in this house. When I saw the size of the bottle, I thought it might last a week or two. But like I said, we have been using it for a bit over a month. (It is at the end of the bottle now)
Also, I am not sure I would really notice a difference in brightness, but I have noticed out clothing looks better. I am not a queen if laundry. I do not have the time or patience to spot and fix every detail. Often my kids do not even tell me if their clothing needs extra attention. And I am often so hurried to get the job done, that I forget to check. We have had to get rid of a lot of clothing from just staining. I have found that I have had less of that this past month. Not sure if the kids are making less spills or if it is the detergent or both, but I have noticed less of a problem this month.
We always use the Free and Clear because we have some kids (and a dad) with really sensitive skin. This works beautifully to keep them from breakouts!
I am so happy to tell you that coming up in a few weeks here, Purex will be bringing back one of my favorite things, their “Prove it to yourself” campaign. They think you should have the chance to try this out yourself. No reason to take their word for it, you can take YOUR word for it! When that promotion returns in February, I will make sure to post a reminder with a link to the page for you to request your own sample to test out!
But in the meantime, if you are looking for a great affordable detergent, check out the Purex new Triple Action formula. It is great-you can take my word for it! :)
***I am a Purex Insider and was given a free bottle of this product to try out for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was given, and as always all opinions expressed are my own!***

Freeze It Hairspray (Review)
So, when I heard about the chance to try out Freeze It hairspray, I jumped at the chance. Why you ask? Well, because, according to the back of the bottle, Freeze It will "lock in your look for an all day style" because it is (and I quote):
- Humidity Resistant (JUST what I need)
- Quick Drying
- Non-Sticky
- Non-Flaking
- Enhanced with Optical Brighteners
OK! This sounds like just what Salsa and I need! Salsa specifically asked for a way to make her frizzy parts of her hair stay down that is not sticky and will hold all day! I would just like to resist the humidity (so I can avoid looking like a frizzball).
So, we put it to the test...
However we were able to spray down her hair a couple different days and styles. One day we put her hair back in a ponytail and the other day she wore it down. And even after playing during the day, her hair looked like this the first day:
A marked difference in the amount of frizz and in how styled her hair looks at the end of the day. Salsa noted that is was not sticky, so it met her expectations! (You can see she liked it as she hugs the bottle...)
I had to go out to a storage unit and check out some things in the wind for about an hour or so on a fairly humid day, so I thought it was the perfect chance to really test out the hairspray. In the morning before I left, my hair looked like this:
A few fly away whispies, but overall, not much of a difference! Sweet! It held up to my test!
We really liked the Freeze It spray in our tests, but I like it even more knowing that Freeze It has partnered with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and sales of their special edition pink cans will go to benefit the Foundation. I love when companies support good causes! I feel like I can help support a great cause while selfishly choosing a great product anyway!! :)
You can find a variety of hair care products from Freeze it, including this sweet hair spray at retailers like Walmart, or you can order online from places like Amazon.
