Purex Baby Detergent Review & #Giveaway
As I have mentioned before, I am a Purex Insider and as such I get to try a lot of their awesome laundry products. Most recently I was sent some Purex Baby Detergent!
What is it?
This product is new for babies and specifically for infants! Here are a few things about it:
Where can I get it?
***By Way of Disclosure, I was sent a free bottle of Purex Baby Detergent for my review, and was given the 3 Free coupons as prizes for this giveaway. I was not however compensated in any other way and all opinions expressed are my own!***

What is it?
This product is new for babies and specifically for infants! Here are a few things about it:
- Provides same bright, white clean you expect from Purex, but is sensitive enough for baby skin!
- Baby-inspired freshness (fragrance)
- Hypoallergenic
- Dermatologist-tested formula guarantees to remove stubborn stains without hurting delicate clothing (like footie pjs-yes this is SAFE detergent to use on baby footie pjs)
- Like all Purex detergents this is formulated for use with all washers
- AND because it is Purex, you can get the best for your baby without breaking the bank
What did we think?
We have been testing out our Purex Baby Detergent. I really like it. It works well (like all the Purex detergents I have tried), and my sensitive skinned kiddos seem to do great with it! One thing I both like and dislike is the scent. Is kind of smells similar to a lightly scented baby powder. I like that it makes me think of babies and it smells "like a baby to me." But I also dislike it in that if you use it for everyone clothes, not just baby's, then you smell like a baby all day. My hubby's scrubs smelled like he had been hanging out in the nursery all day instead of in radiology. Which is ok, but was a little odd at work.

All in all I really liked it and highly recommend it-ESPECIALLY if you DO have a baby you are washing all those little outfits for (I remember how shockingly huge the amount of laundry was after my first child was born-this would be perfect for that!!)
Where can I get it?
This is not available everywhere yet, so look for a location near you on this page before you head out to grab some.
AND if you have a baby, know someone with a baby or expecting a baby, I am happy to say I have a SWEET giveaway! 3 lucky Beckee's Deals readers will each win a coupon for a FREE bottle of Purex Baby Detergent. Just enter below on the Rafflecopter form.

That means you have until 11:00 PM on 2/22 Central time to get in entries (That is only 10:00 PM here in AZ). Please note that winners will be picked at random by Rafflecopter after the giveaway ends! Also, Facebook is not affiliated with this giveaway and cannot be held responsible for it in any way.

Baby in his Bumbo
On Monday, I told you about funny named baby products that I love. I included a picture of my baby in his "Mamaroo". Well, I realized that many of you don't know what a "Bumbo" is so I thought I would show you some pictures of my baby in his:
My little (or not so little) guy, as big as he is is actually still not quite 5 months old, and he is NOT sitting on his own yet. The "Bumbo" is a seat that helps non sitters sit up so you can do things like feed them! SWEET!

Everest...how he (finally) got his name...
If you have been reading this blog for a while, you are likely aware of how picky I am with naming my children. I have crazy rules about how unique they must be. (To read all about the details of my rules, see the post here.)
Basically, all of my kids have one "unique" name (as defined by my rules for naming my kids). They also each have a family name. I shared with you the stress I was having in trying to choose a name for my new baby. I always have the hardest time with finding a unique boy name that is not too weird. And lets be honest, I am apparently not good at coming up with the best unique names anyway. I tend to chose names that seem unique or at least lesser used only to find that the names are actually on the list of the top 1000 SSA names or they are listed as more popular on other baby naming sites like babynametrain.com. I told you my favorite boy name was Sawyer, and it is 202 on the most popular list-seriously go look and see.
So, with this new baby (who BTW is a month old already!) I was struggling naming him. My husband and I discussed baby's name a lot. However, at some point my husband told me that I was going to name this child because he did not want to hear forever that he named all the kids. But as I mentioned, I do not pick unique as well as I thought I would. I tend to pick "gaining popularity" type names instead. Wes however is awesome at choosing unique names. So, he is the one that comes up with the names. I just basically have to chose the one I like.
This time, I had to make the final decision. My favorite name, as usual, fell into the "gaining popularity" category (Sawyer), and the other 3 names we liked that I was choosing between were Rockwell, Everest, & Kanell. Please don't mock my choices-I am sensitive.
In the end I went with Everest. It was not listed on ssa's list, but I was surprised to find it was listed on babynametrain.com. My other kids names are not ever even listed, but Everest was listed. I really think it must be because of Mt Everest that it is listed at all though. If you go look, Everest is listed as "not ranked" and "rare".
In the end, I am happy with the choice I made. As a friend noted to Wes, Mt Everest is the highest mountain peak in the world, and surely our little Everest will also rise to the highest heights! We gave him a lot to live up to, but what a grand name it is!! Our friend said she was sure he would live up to his name. Here's to hoping! Doesn't he look like an Everest to you?
I think so, but that's just me!

Calm before the (Baby coming) storm?!
Wow-I have quite a few things I want to blog about today on here, and my plan was to wake up and blog after the older kids were off to school on the bus. But, I think we may be in the calm before the storm with this baby coming! Here is the thing. I have slept MAYBE 2-3 hours a night this whole week. I have been too uncomfortable, adn I have been contracting and just basically miserable all week. But then last night, I felt calm and exhausted, and I slept...I slept like (forgive me for this) well, a baby! ANd this morning, after getting the children on the bus, I fell right back asleep. The younger 2 kids have been watching way too much PBS this morning, but they let me sleep!!! And I just woke up...
So, I will work this afternoon on the blog a bit as soon as I get the preschooler to school. Hopefully for all your email subscribers/readers, I can get all the stuff done before the email goes out today, but in case I don't, just remember-you can stop by the blog and see what has posted, or wait until tomorrow and it will be conveniently delivered to your email as usual!

Eek...Baby is coming soon, and he is nameless...
What's in a Name?!
Well, those of you that know me personally know that my children all have quite unique names. I have 2 girls and 2 boys. Each has a "unique" name as well as a family name. I have not used their names on here, but for the purposes of this post, I suppose I cannot keep their awesome (in my humble opinion) names quiet. But before I tell you their names, let me explain what my definition of "unique" is...
In case you did not know, the Social Security Administration keeps a list of the most popular names in the US. If you go to the SSA website here, on the lower right side is an area that says "Popularity of a name" and has a number of boxes you can fill in (Name, which sex it is associated with, and how many years back you want to look). You can look back as far as 100 years and it keeps track of the top 1000 names per year.
When I say I want a "unique" name, I mean the name cannot have been in the top 1000 anytime over the past 100 years. AND I have 4 kids who all have a "unique" name by that definition. You can look them up and see-my girls are Solace and Kindle, and my boys are Ender and Armour.
Well, of course as we have more kids, it becomes harder to find a "unique" name that is not TOO far out there, that both Wes and I like. And so, this child is nameless...due so very soon and nameless. We have a few ideas for the unique part of the name that fit my criteria, but my favorite name (Sawyer) is on the list and gaining popularity like wild fire (Thanks a lot Lost)!
The names we are considering are cute, but nothing has quite hooked me like Sawyer. So, he remains nameless. And I am totally open to suggestions...do you fine readers have any?! I would L.O.V.E. to hear what ideas you have because I am running out of time and ideas and Wes says this time I have to pick...(yeah right)...
(Oh..and please don't judge me too harshly if he ends up as a Sawyer in spite of my unique-requirement...)

For Fun: Guess when baby will come and how big he will be...
Well, as we are getting closer to the due date of Baby #5, I thought we could have a little fun and have some guesses as to when he will come and how big he will be. I will add a running list of guesses on the side of the blog. To make your guess, you will need to comment on this post or email me at beckeesdeals@gmail.com. We will take guesses for the following: date and time of birth, weight, and length. I will also accept unique boy name ideas as he is still nameless...
Here is the pertinent info you might want to be able to make an informed guess.
About this guy: I found out I was pregnant on July 26, 2010 (Army's b-day). According to my last period date, I would have been due sometime mid March. However, we had a very early ultrasound (5 weeks as it turned out) that put the due date on April 5, 2011 (E Dawg's 7th birthday). These early ultrasounds are supposed to be the most accurate identifier of due date. So, officially my due date is set at April 5, 2011 (4 weeks and 2 days away).
As far as his size, at my 20 week ultrasound, he measured a bit big and a bit further along that 20 weeks (again-the early ultrasounds are most accurate). And we did another Ultrasound at 30 weeks where he measured more like 32-33 weeks and was already 4 lb 3 oz (according to the measurements-which are fairly accurate, but could be way off as well).
About the other kids/previous pregnancies:
My older 4 kids were all early and have been progressively bigger:
Salsa was 3 days early. She was 7 lb 14.6 oz and 20.5 inches long.
E Dawg was 9 days early. He was 7 lb 14.6 oz and 20.5 inches long (yes-he and Salsa were identical in size at birth).
Army was 15 days early. He was 8 lb 15.2 oz and 21.75 inches long.
Cat was 13 days early. She was 9 lb 4 oz and 19.5 inches (that is what it officially says, but it was determined that was inaccurate as she was 22 inches at 3 days old).
How do I feel?
Well, I am miserable and feel that baby should come anytime now. I have occasional contractions, but nothing of real consequence. At my appointment last Tuesday, I was dilated to a 3+ and 50% effaced. BUT that means nothing as a 5th time mom I could go around forever like that. I hope this baby comes early, but I can see this being the one late child...
So, Now that you have the 411, make a guess as to what day you think this child will be born, and I will add it to the list on the side of this blog as well as the list I am going to put on my deals blog. No one in our house has made a guess yet, but we will in the next day or so. Remember, to make guesses you will need to comment on this post or email me at beckeesdeals@gmail.com. Baby J #5 update (FINALLY some good 3D face pics)
I just wanted to take a deals break and tell you about my baby/pregnancy. I am 30 weeks pregnant as of yesterday (YEAH) so I have about 10 weeks left. As many of you know, my husband is a doctor and in fact a radiologist so occasionally if they are not super busy we can sneak a peek at our baby through ultrasound. It is about the only perk to residency! :)
Anyway-yesterday they had some time to scan my tummy (and they wanted to show a student how to do 3D & 4D Ultrasounds) so went and got some pics of baby boy J. So far his face has been covered in ALL the ultrasounds and so we have not seen it before, but I will tell you, he is a cutie! And boy-he really looks like his siblings!!
The other fun thing is that baby is actually measuring at 32 1/2 weeks instead of 30 weeks and he is already over 4 pounds, so maybe he will come early! :) Fingers crossed! (He is due on his brother, E Dawg's 7th birthday, so It would be nice if he was born early and they did not share a birthday...)
Anyway-here are a few of my favorite pictures of baby J (first is of his feet-he has is big toes crossed, the other 2 are his face!!):
I think he is a cutie! Yes I know I am biased, but oh well...if anyone has unique but not too weird boy names to suggest, I am all ears!!
