EASY, FAST, FRUGAL (creepy) Halloween Dinner!!!
9:01 AM
I L.O.V.E. doing fun holiday themes dinners for my family! And to be honest, I tend to go a bit overboard! In fact, tonight I am going all out (I promise I will share it later). This Halloween I had so many ideas for great creepy Halloween themed meals! But I have to admit as I was researching online there were tons of search results that pointed to making "worms" for dinner-out of Hot dogs. You will not believe how easy and frugal this creepy Halloween dinner is!! After looking at a bunch of online ideas I put mine together like this:
I chose not to serve on buns as my kids don't like that. Here is what I did.
1. Cut up Hot Dogs into strips (I cute each one into 6ths)
2. Boil sliced hot dogs in boiling water for just a couple minutes until they start to curl.
3. Take out of water. (Maybe strain it to make sure there is not excess moisture)
4. In a frying pan melt about a Tablespoon of butter.
5. Add the curling hot dogs and a Tablespoon or 2 of Ketchup (to your own taste and vision-they look creepy with the ketchup)
6. Fry for like a minute or 2.
7. Serve as you wish (I just served a bowl or worms-you could serve worm sandwiches or something if you want!)
Here is Mr Beckee's Deals (Oh he will love that I called him that) trying out the worms:
This was a well loved EASY, QUICK, FRUGAL meal that YOU could totally give your kids tonight before you they go out and get all that sugar!!
Tonight's dinner includes Monster meatloaf, Ghost Mashed Potatoes, and Jello worms. Here is a preview of what they look like:
I found the Jello recipe on Pinterest. It originated from the blog The Idea Room. Go check it out! It is AWESOME!
