Getting to Know you...Just for fun...
Candice over at Stash Mama does a fun weekly feature that I thought would be fun to join in. Each week she does a Whatcha Say Wednesday, and how it works is like this: she posts a few fun "getting to know" type questions on Tuesday, you answer them on your blog then go back on Wednesday and link up your answers. I thought I would try it out this week and maybe let you see a little peek into the world of Beckee.
Here are the questions she posted for tomorrow:
1. If you could go to any country for free, where would you go and why?
2. If you were a time traveler and could only go back in time or forward in time, which would you choose?
3. What was your first job?
Bonus!
Why isn’t the number 11 pronounced onety one?
Feel free to answer these questions in a comment here as well if you so desire. I would LOVE to get to know my readers better through these fun questions! Here are my answers:
1. I would travel to Greece for sure! I have been there once before and there was so much to do that I would love to go back and do and see more of the country. It is also where my mom's mom family is from and many relatives are still there.
2. I would go back in time not forward! I know what to expect in the past and can pick and choose the past times I wanted to go back to-my wedding, the births of my 4 kids, etc. Also, I would love to go back and talk to some of the family that has passed on!
3. It was as a dresser for Fashion shows at Nordstrom.
Bonus: Really, I have NO clue...What are your thoughts?

closed GIVEAWAY: Seventh Generation Laundry Products
Well, there are only a few things I like better than a good giveaway, and there are only a few things my husband likes better that a good experiment, so I was super excited when I was asked to do this giveaway/review/experiment!
Before I explain the experiment and the prize pack, let me tell you a bit about Seventh Generation (I am quoting from the information I was sent):
So, to conduct my own experiment, Seventh Generation through MyBlogSpark sent me a prize pack including 2 identical test t-shirts, a black light, and Seventh Generation liquid laundry products. I was asked to then wash one shirt in my normal laundry detergent and the other in the provided Seventh Generation laundry products. Well, check out the results (remember the shirt looking light means it DOES have optical brightners):
As you can see, my Conventional Laundry detergent is brighter under the black light and thus contains optical brightners. Seventh Generation does not! Now, I was really excited to try this experiment out and to see these results! You can learn more about the Seventh Generation Laundry Products here and you can sign up for their newsletter here.
You can click here to print a coupon for $1 off Seventh Generation Liquid laundry products.
AND one LUCKY Beckeesdeals reader will win a prize pack of their own from Seventh Generation with a set of Seventh Generation laundry products:
Here is how to enter the Giveaway (PLEASE make sure to leave an email address in each comment so I can reach you should you win):
MANDATORY ENTRY (Must do this first for other entries to count): Just leave a comment sharing your favorite tips for keeping their families healthy at home.
Once you have done that, you can get up to 7 extra entries by doing the following things (Just make sure to leave a separate comment for each entry, and leave me your email address in each comment so I know how to contact you should you win):
1. Become a Google Friend follower of my blog (You can do this over on the right side of the blog where the followers box is). If you are already a follower, just let me know that in your comment.
2. Subscribe to my blog via Email or an RSS feed/reader. (Yes-you can use this entry if you are already an email or RSS subscriber- just let me know how you subscribe to my blog).
3. Become a Facebook fan of the blog here.
4. Follow me on Twitter here.
5. Tell me how you found this giveaway/blog.
6. Go like Seventh Generation on Facebook
7. Go Follow seventhgen on Twitter
This giveaway is for USA and Canada residents only.
Be sure to leave a comment for each entry with your email address. The winner will be chosen using Random.org on Thursday December 16, 2010 at at about 11:59 PM Central Time.
***Please note that I was sent the above mentioned package from Seventh Generation, through MyBlogSpark along with information about this Project, but any opinions expressed are my own. They are also providing the Prize pack for the giveaway***

Before I explain the experiment and the prize pack, let me tell you a bit about Seventh Generation (I am quoting from the information I was sent):
Did you know that the laundry detergent you may be using could contain little-known chemicals called optical brighteners? And According to scientific research, these can cause allergic reactions, are toxic to small fish and other aquatic life, and can pollute your waterways.
When ultraviolet light hits optical brighteners coating your clothing, the brighteners convert UV rays into visible light to create an optical illusion. This tricks the eye into thinking the clothing is whiter and brighter, and therefore cleaner than it really is.
So how can you avoid these optical brighteners? Seventh Generation makes it easy because their laundry detergents are not only free of optical brighteners, but they´re also non-toxic . In addition, because Seventh Generation liquid laundry detergents are both hypo-allergenic and biodegradable, you can rest easy knowing you made a considerate choice for your family and the environment.
So, to conduct my own experiment, Seventh Generation through MyBlogSpark sent me a prize pack including 2 identical test t-shirts, a black light, and Seventh Generation liquid laundry products.
