120 mile sad update + a special thanks to Wes!!

wow-I stink this week and hate having to post this update...I only walked 7 miles this week bringing my grand total to 58.  So sad...I have no real excuse but I will tell you that extreme heat+humidity makes me much less motivated to do anything! Luckily my husband pulled me out of my slump a bit this week by taking me to the mall (where they have Air Conditioning-unlike us at the moment) and we walked around there for a couple hours. I am lucky I have such a supportive husband and I really appreciate him!

I wrote last week about the weight loss I have had over the past few months. As part of that loss, I have moved from wearing sizes14-16 to fitting again in size 10 (even a few of my 8s are fitting again).  We found a clearance dress at the mall that I LOVED, but it was a 6. I have not been a 6 since 5th grade. But I was an 8-10 until I was pregnant with my first child. If I get down to a 6-8, Wes said he will buy me a new wardrobe if I want one...that is motivating-not that I will get new clothes, but that Wes is so supportive and helps to motivate me when I hit a slump!
Thanks Wes! I love you!

Update: Cat's 120 Mile Challenge...How has Beckee doing?!

Well, it has been a tough week at casa de Beckee, but due to the lack of car I was able to walk a lot today-in fact I walked with all 4 of my kids to go pick up my van when it was fixed. It turned out to be about a 4 mile walk but with the wrong turns and the "short cuts" I tried, I ended up getting an extra mile in there (yep 5 miles with 4 kids, a stroller, and 2 car seats...).

I weighed myself for the first time in 3 months yesterday (in the evening after a big meal) and was happy to see I had lost a lot of weight over the past 3 months. When I used to weigh myself everyday, I always did it in the morning, so this morning I weighed myself and I have lost a grand total of about 12 pounds in the past 3 months!!!

When I had my 4th child 2 years ago, I was about 190 pounds at the end of that pregnancy. I lost some of that weight right away after I had her, but then worked really hard to get back down to 175. When I finally hit the 160 mark about 6 months ago, I was stuck. I was working out and eating well, but that weight stayed there forever, so I stopped weighing myself and just kept trying to get in better shape.

This challenge came up and it has made me get up and walk even when I do not want to (since I have to report back to you). I am glad I have been up and moving more with some sense of accountability. I am happy to be able to report that I am now down to 148 pounds and I might actually get to my goal of 130 at this rate...

So, to give my report, I walked 11 miles this week (yes 5 were today-it was a slow week before...) and my grand total is now 51 miles.

I also want to say congrats to all the winners of the 40 mile prizes, especially to my little sister Andrea-congrats! (She always says she never wins anything so I must harass her when she does!)

Update on my Fat Butt Friday Summer challenge

Photobucket

As I mentioned last week, Cat over at 4 Nuts in a Nutshell is doing a great summer challenge. It is a 120 mile walk or run challenge, and I have decided to take the challenge. After all, we walk to the lake near our house (3 miles round trip) as a family 3-6 times a week, so this should be easy, right?

Well, I am still behind, btu making some progress.  I should be at 40 miles by the end of the month (June 30-next Wednesday).  I do not know if I will make that or not!

So, this is where you great readers come in...I need to be held accountable for my walking. So far I have been out of town week 1 and sick most of week 2 which are my excuses for being behind, but excuses will not help me accomplish the challenge. So, I am going to give you an update of my progress each Friday to try to be more accountable and motivated. If anyone is doing this challenge with Cat, or if you want to just jump in and do it as a support to me, you can leave your progress and updates in comments.

Come on, let's get moving!!

Thanks Cat for doing this challenge and getting my butt in gear! And thanks in advance to my readers for helping me stay motivated!

Right now I walked 13 miles this week which brings my total to 30 miles for the challenge overall.

Cat's Fat Butt Friday Summer Challenge...my sad update...

Photobucket

Well, I am about 2 weeks late in telling you about this, but I thought I would anyway! Cat over at 4 Nuts in a Nutshell is doing a great summer challenge. It is a 120 mile walk or run challenge, and I have decided to take the challenge. After all, we walk to the lake near our house (3 miles round trip) as a family 3-6 times a week, so this should be easy, right?

Well, so far not so much. Yesterday was the end of week 2 and at this point I should be at 20 miles to be on schedule. I fully expected to be ahead of the game. As it turns out, I am behind at a mere 17 miles...dang...
